Lee Douglas Manson Sr., age 52, of Burr Oak, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 14, 1959, in Hazel Crest, Ill., a son of Emery Lee and Mary Lou (Dekker) Manson. At the age of 14, Lee’s family moved to the Fisher Lake area, where he attended Mendon Schools, and later Glen Oaks Community College.
Lee was employed as a metal worker at Syndicate Systems in Middlebury, Ind., for several years. His hobbies included golf, photography and listening to music.
On Sept. 25, 2010, Lee married Gwen Coleman in Three Rivers. She survives, along with four children, Tracy (Daron) Patnoude of Mendon, Lee (Laurie) Manson Jr. of Port Huron, Steven Manson of Auburn, Ind., and Austin Manson of Sturgis; two stepdaughters, Amanda (Tim) Abbott of Centreville and Monica (Ben) Pant of Sturgis; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Roger Graham of Jeffersonville, Pa.; and an aunt and uncle, Tom and Evelyn Dekker of Chicago Ridge, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Manson; his mother, Mary Lou Fisher; and a sister, Vicky Manson.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon.
Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Wicks, pastor of Sturgis Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Cremation will follow services and a private interment of ashes will take place in Mendon Cemetery.
Memorials will be directed to the family.
