Clarence “Pete” D. Jacobs, 69, of Jones, passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers on Sept. 20, 1942 the son of Clarence E. and Garnette M. (Dukes) Jacobs-McGary.
Mr. Jacobs has been a lifelong resident of this area. He was employed by Fisher Body of Kalamazoo, which later became General Motors, before retiring in 1993. On Nov. 6, 1965 he married Judith (Westphal) in Cassopolis.
Pete was an avid classic car collector. He belonged to the “Good Guys Club” and also the National Street Rod Association (N.S.R.A.). He also was a member of the Three Rivers B.P.O.E. #1248 and the Three Rivers Eagles #2303, as well as the AmVets of Baldwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Laura (Parris) Helzer.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 46 years, Judith “Judy” Jacobs of Jones; two children, Michelle L. (Doug) Troup of Jones and Michael E. (Joni) Jacobs of Jones; two granddaughters, Kathryn Lynn and Ann Marie Jacobs; and two nephews, John and David Parris of Alpena.
Per Pete’s request cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
