Phyllis M. Hines, 80, of Marcellus, passed away at her residence Monday evening, Feb. 20, 2012 following an illness.
She was born Nov. 13, 1931 in Steuben County, Ind. the daughter of Cecil L. and Rena R. (Perkins) Hanes. On July 28, 1951 in Auburn, Ind. she married Edward L. Hines, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2006. She had been a resident of Marcellus since 1960. She was formerly employed at Three Rivers Hospital for over 35 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila R. (George) Davis of Cassopolis and Theresa M. Hines of Marcellus; one son, Rick L. (Deborah) Hines of Marcellus; several grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice (Hanes) Pence of Garrett, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two daughters, Sherry Hammond and Karen Hines, and one sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 in the Mater Funeral Home, Marcellus with Pastor Dwight Hostetler of the Edwards Corners Bible Church officiating. Cremation will follow.
The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Borgess Visiting Nurse & Hospice.
