Stephanie Horvath, age 87, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 15, 1924 in Delray.
Mrs. Horvath had resided in Sturgis for the past nine years, coming from Wyandotte, where she had lived most of her life.
For many years she worked as a crossing guard and she was a homemaker and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wyandotte and enjoyed watching television.
Mrs. Horvath is survived by one daughter, Mary Bachorowski of Sturgis; two sons, Brian Horvath of Sturgis and Bruce Horvath of Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Horvath; one son, David Horvath; one brother; and several sisters.
In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Mass will be held at a later date and burial of the ashes will take place at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown.
