Arietta Young, 87, passed away peacefully early Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Heartland Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 30, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Schoonover) Weirick.
Arietta has been a resident of Three Rivers since 1959. She was employed by Graber Industries as a Bookkeeper for 42 years and self employed as a tax consultant for more than 40 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, crossword puzzles and playing golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the late Roy O. Young Sr., whom she married on Oct. 6, 1954 in Kalamazoo; two sisters, Dorothy Polis and Nancy Pike; one brother, Robert Weirick.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons, Roy O. Young Jr., C.T. “Val” (Barbara) ValLance, Robert ValLance, and Jack (Lynda) ValLance, of McDonough, Ga.; several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 1 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Miller officiating.
Private Family interment will be held in Vicksburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Salvation Army.
