An undisclosed amount of money was taken during an armed robbery shortly before 3 a.m. Monday at the Admiral gas station in Sturgis.

Investigators from the Sturgis Police Department responded to the East Chicago Road station, where the clerk said a white man about six feet tall and wearing an orange bandana over the lower half of his face demanded money.

The man fled the scene on foot and a K-9 unit from the Sturgis Police Department traced the scent of the burglar to an area residence.

More information, including details about the type of weapon used during the robbery, was unavailable from the police department.
