Carl E. Metzger, 92, died at 1:15 a.m. March 3, 2012, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester.
He was born May 20, 1919, in Kosciusko County, Ind., a son of the late Albert H. Metzger and Fern E. (Swank).
He retired from farming in 1986.
On Sept. 29, 1946, he married Wilda E. Poehler. She died March 17, 2010.
He attended Haines School and later graduated from Sidney High School class of 1937.
Surviving are a son, Lee W. Metzger of Lagrange, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Pinckley of California.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lela B. Wise.
A funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. The Rev. Philip Rittner II will officiate. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in North Manchester.
