Charles W. (Bill) Mullins, age 73, of Burr Oak, passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his home.
Bill was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Brodhead, Ky., a son of the late James S. and Reva (Brummett) Mullins. On Nov. 21, 1966, he married Barbara Ellen Witters in Jamestown, Ohio. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 2007.
He had been employed at the St. Joseph County fairgrounds for 25 years, retiring in 2004.
Bill had made his home in Burr Oak for the past 33 years, where he had coached baseball in Colon and Burr Oak. He also loved the out of doors, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by five children, Anthony Mullins, Steven Mullins, Cindy (Mullins) Rogers, and Jim Mullins all of Burr Oak, and Misty Mullins and special friend Roger Williams of Burr Oak; grandchildren, Mandi Kay and Charles Mullins, Alecia Norton, Bobbi Jo and Clayton Carr, Mathew Bowdish, Erica and Molly Mullins, Reva and Jeannie Mullins, Taja Rogers, James and Justin Mullins; two great-grandchildren, Jace Rogers and Machena Norton; two sisters, Connie (Chuck) Thurmen of Spring Valley, Ohio, and Sharon (Kenny) Criutt of Texas; and sister-in-law Annita Mullins of Xenia, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Cathy Mullins; a brother, James Mullins; and a sister, Jeannie Mullins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles W. (Bill) Mullins will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
