Christina Ann Howay, age 44, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon March 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1967, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., a daughter of the late William and Carol (McKee) Buchanan.
Christina lived most of her life in the Sturgis area with the exception of seven years she resided in Kalamazoo.
On July 9, 1993, she married Bruce Howay in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Christina was a homemaker and enjoyed using her computer and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; one daughter, Ashley Howay of Sturgis; one son, Andrew Howay of Ionia; nine grandchildren, Olivia, Rebecca, Eleazar, Kalub, Kandice, Kamron, Kolton, Keegon and Kennedy; two sisters, Tammy Fletcher of Florida and Carlyn Buchanan of Wisconsin; two brothers, Scott Buchanan and Mark Buchanan, both of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jacob Peterson; and infant twin brother and sister.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the visitation.
