Sturgis, Mich. — Dale Wayne White, age 64, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 26, 1948, in Sturgis, a son of the late William Henry and Emma Pauline (Bupp) White.
Dale lived his entire life in the Sturgis and Burr Oak area. On Nov. 10, 1972, he married Alberta M. Compeau in Sturgis. She died April 21, 2006.
Dale was a talented welder by trade and had been employed by Grumman Olson and Ribblets Manufacturing.
He was proud to have served his country during in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Private First Class.
Dale was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #574, working on cars and fishing, especially for catfish. What made Dale happiest was helping others. He was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by one daughter, Julieann Rustad of LaGrange, Ind.; three sons, Patrick (his special friend Tammy) White of Sturgis, Tracy (Samantha) White of LaGrange and Michael Brown of Tennessee; four grandchildren; seven sisters, Carol Ann (Larry) Crapo of Constantine, Linda (Don) Hostetler of Sturgis, Lana (Louie) Lee of Fremont, Ind., Cathy (Gail) Daniels of Sturgis, Penny White of Kalamazoo, Connie (Bill) McDaniel of Constantine and Bonnie Stump of Constantine; two brothers, Richard Allen (BJ) White of Constantine and D.W. (Deloris) White of Burr Oak; and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, and no services are planned at this time.
Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
