Florence C. “Tina” Lung, age 87, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Saturday morning, March 10, 2012, at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1924, in West Liberty, Ky., a daughter of the late John and Nannie (Haney) Gose.
Mrs. Lung had resided in the Sturgis area most of her life. On May 30, 1952 she married Allen A. Lung in Valentine, Indiana. He died October 16, 1966.
In 1993, she retired from Abbott Laboratories in Sturgis following over 29 years of dedicated employment.
Mrs. Lung was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sturgis and she enjoyed flowers, playing Yahtzee, crossword puzzles and her many friends. What she truly loved and cherished was time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Robert (Phyllis) Lung of Sturgis; two daughters, Cindy (David) Weiderman and Debra (Eugene) Yoder, both of Sturgis; 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Laura, Carrie, Heidi, Brian, Julie, Eric, Corey, Angela and Steven; two step-grandchildren, John Blue and Diane Davis; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Darlene Feister of Centreville and Edna Rossman of Kendallville, Ind.; one brother, Johnny Gose of Monroe; several nieces and nephews including special nephews, William Vanlandingham and Gary Vanlandingham and special niece, Sandra (Don) Kresse of Florida; several great nieces and nephews including special great nieces and nephew, Roxanne, Angela and Mike.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; several sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, (269) 651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Florence C. “Tina” Lung will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Paul Stern will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
