Frances (Hughes-Crabtree) Buzenius. age 82, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Bowman House in Three Rivers where she had resided the past six years. She was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 8, 1929 the daughter of George W. and Frances M. (Porter) Hughes. She was a 1947 graduate of Mendon High School. Frances was married to James Crabtree on May 2, 1949. They were later divorced.
Frances had been employed at Continental Can Co. and Kroger in Three Rivers, and for Water-Pik in Colorado. Most of her working life was at Lear Corp. of Mendon where she was secretary for U.A.W. Local 503. Frances was a seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her family. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking.
Frances is survived by five children, Jeffery (Donna) Crabtree of Three Rivers, Susan (Erik Bergman) Crabtree of Portland, OR, Gerry (Joseph) Fletcher of Vicksburg, John Crabtree of Jacksonville, FL, and Leroy Crabtree of Comstock; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Grace (Joseph) Vermillion of Philo, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Leon Hughes; two sisters, Agnes Blanchard and June Quinn; and her husband, Henry Buzenius.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday March 29, 2012 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon.
