George E. Comeau of Three Rivers passed away early Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012, at the home of his daughter’s family.
He was born March 1, 1927 in Three Rivers, the son of the late Edward G. and Miriam (Freese) Comeau. George was employed at Dock Foundry and Armstrong Machine Works until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Eagles, an avid golfer, Pitcher for the Moose Softball Team, fisherman and bowler. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife, Marie (Miller) Comeau; his daughter, Denise (Kyle) Ward of Carmel, Ind.; two grandchildren, Brandy (Libby) Welsh-Ward and Jordyn Ward; two stepchildren, Dan Haigh and Steven (Allison) Haigh; two step-grandchildren, Steven Jr. and Veronica Haigh; one brother, Thomas (Barbara) Comeau; one step-brother, Raymond (Chris) Comeau; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; two infant brothers; his first wife, Shirley (Hill) Comeau; his son, Gary Comeau; his stepmother, Gladys Comeau; stepsister, Jeanie Slocum; three nieces and one nephew.
Visitation and Memorial Services for Mr. Comeau will both be held at Bethany Chapel, 15130 Millard Road, Three Rivers. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
