Kenneth R. Roberts, age 79, of Hart and formerly of Constantine, Michigan passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart.
He was born October 10, 1932 in Detroit. Ken was raised in Detroit. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He married Margaret Mae Moore on May 25, 1964. She passed away September 7, 2006.
He was a longtime educator before his retirement. He began his teaching career in the Upper Peninsula. Ken received his Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University and earned a Doctorate in Education from East Coastal University. He was a principal and later became a superintendent. He was the first superintendent on Mackinac Island and oversaw the building of their current school. He served as superintendent in Constantine from 1967 to 1986.
He is survived by his sons, Dan (Kristy) Roberts of Shelby and Wayne (Kristin) Roberts of Grandville; and his grandchildren, Hannah, Nick, Jacob, Katelyn, Stacey, Jesse and Christopher.
