Marguerite Wheeler, 89

Marguerite Wheeler, age 89, Centreville, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her home following a long illness.

She was born Aug. 5, 1922, in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter of Douglas and Marie (Hart) Marks. Marguerite attended school in LaGrange.

On July 26, 1942, she married Charles W. Wheeler in Brimfield, Ind. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2000.

Marguerite worked as a packer for Kirsch Company, retiring in 1972. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughters, Charlotte (Dexter) Snyder of Mendon, Karen (Dennis) Bickle of Pinckney, Lavada (Charles) Skeen of Centreville, Sandy (John) Hoffmeister of Centreville; her son, Charles D. (Tressa) Wheeler of Stigler, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ann Leslie David of Sturgis; and brother-in-law Philip Beach of Delphi, Ind.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; and two brothers.

There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Chaplain Karla Kauffman of Three Rivers Hospice will officiate.
