Marion Bernice Burlingame, 95, of Three Rivers died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home. She was born in Minneapolis, Minn, on Aug. 26, 1916, the daughter of Harry Douglas and Willa Mae (Wylie) Bostwick. Marion was a homemaker who also worked as a receptionist at Dr. Dana’s office in Kalamazoo. She was a Day Care Center volunteer and also volunteered at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Battle Creek. She was also a member of the Portage V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Marion is survived by two daughters, Gail Burlingame-Smith of Grand Ledge, Mich., and Pamela Phillips-Salter of Three Rivers; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul A. Burlingame, two daughters, Sandra L. Cassone and Marion C. Conway; two brothers Robert D. Bostwick and William E. Bostwick, and one sister, Martha Rice.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Stout, pastor of Volinia Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow services and a private interment of ashes will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
