Ronald W. Sager, 70, of Long Lake, Burr Oak, passed away March 19, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Ron was born Sept.. 24, 1941, in Sturgis, a son of the late Walton V. and Doretha F. (Johnson) Sager.
Ron graduated from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1958, he then continued his education at Ball State University, receiving a BA degree in business and also participated in their ROTC program.
Ron served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot, serving during the Vietnam War.
On June 22, 1963, he married Susie Fagan in Oconomowoc.
He enjoyed the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing and also loved tinkering in his garage. Ron was a member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church and Colon American Legion Post #454.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Sager of Burr Oak; two sons, Michael P. (Sheryl) Sager of Clearwater, Fla., and Jeffrey A. (Sandee) of Angola, Ind.; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Jordan Sager of Angola, Ind.; and a sister, Suzanne (David) Kane of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Ron to the Arthritis Foundation, Michigan Chapter, 17117 W. Nine Mile Road #950, Southfield, MI 48075-4516.
The family was assisted by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
