Contract extension for Kuhlman

A two-year contract extension is expected to be offered to Rob Kuhlman, superintendent of Mendon Community Schools and Centreville Public Schools.

Dave Peterson, president of the Centreville Board of Education, said a six-person joint committee last week gave Kuhlman a glowing annual evaluation. As a result, the committee agreed to offer Kuhlman a contract extension that would keep him in place through the 2014-15 academic year.

Kuhlman is currently in the second year of a three-year contract he signed after being given the job in May 2010. His current salary is just shy of $125,000 annually, which is paid evenly by the two districts.

The 56-year-old Kuhlman is expected to act on the extension after the two districts stage their respective board meetings later this month.
