Doyle L. Lunger, 74, of Goshen, Ind., died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Greencroft Health Care (Gables Unit) in Goshen, Ind.
He was born march 28, 1938, in Three Rivers, Mich., the son of O.J. and Leona (Hoyt) Lunger.
He served in the National Guard and Army Reserves and was a Goshen, Ind. resident since 1980, coming from Constantine, Mich. He was a graduate of Centreville High School.
He was divorced and was a communications technician for General Telephone, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Elkhart County Fraternal Order of Police, Loyal Order of the Moose and enjoyed golf, bowling, Nascar, and mostly time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Dian (Daniel) Warren of White Pigeon; son, Steven (Laurie) Lunger of Quincy; two sisters, Carolyn Allen of Colon and Marilyn (Del) Summey of Grass Valley, Calif.; grandsons, Jesse (Terri) Warren, Mark (Brooks) Warren, and Eric Lunger; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie, Brock, and Emma; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Les Winebrinner; brother, O.J. Lunger Jr.; great-grandson Gabriel; and sister, Rita.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Graveside service and interment of cremains will take place at a later date at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Donations may be directed to the Centreville High School Athletic Boosters. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon which is in care of arrangements.
