Larry Weaver Jr., 46

Lawrence E. “Larry” Weaver Jr., age 46, of Findlay, Ohio, and a former Sturgis resident, passed away early Saturday morning, April 28, 2012, at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.

He was born Feb. 9, 1966, in Sturgis, Mich., a son of Lawrence and Virginia (Hull) Weaver.

Larry resided in Ohio for the past eight years. Prior to moving to Ohio he lived in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1984. He continued his education at Acme Institute of Technology in South Bend, Ind., where he earned an associate degree in computer aided design.

On April 16, 1988, he married Linda Lucas in White Pigeon.

Nearly all of Larry’s working life was involved in engineering. He was currently employed as a Process Engineer with P&A Industries in Findlay, Ohio. Before joining P&A he had worked as an engineer for Toledo Tool & Die in Toledo, Ohio and for several years starting while still in high school he worked for Sturgis Tool & Die in Sturgis.

While a student at Sturgis High School, Larry excelled in athletics as a member of the wrestling, track and cross country teams. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry work. He was a strong supporter of the Sturgis High school tennis program and he loved time spent with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; one daughter, April Weaver at home; one son, Luke Weaver at home; parents, Lawrence and Virginia Weaver Sr. of Jonesborough, Tenn.; one sister, Christine (Benjamin) Bradish of Johnson City, Tenn.; niece, Lauren Bradish; nephews, Parker and Peyton Bradish; mother-in-law, Diane Lucas of Sturgis; and sister-in-law, Barbara Lucas of Sturgis.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Felix Lucas; and brother-in-law, Mark Lucas.

In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. A memorial service celebrating the life of Larry Weaver, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Deb Johnson will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
