Paul Conkright, 84

Paul E. “Papa” Conkright, age 84, of Three Rivers, died April 16, 2012 at his home following a lengthy illness.  He was born March 10, 1928 in Constantine, a son of Kenneth and Ruth (Mallo) Conkright.  He graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1946 and studied Agriculture at Michigan State University.  Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  On April 17, 1999 he married Keryl S. Keith at the Porter Baptist Church. He was a member of Porter Baptist Church serving faithfully in many roles. He was also a member of Gideon International for 25 years. Paul was active in serving his community in many ways.  Paul owned and operated the family farm for many years retiring in 2001.
Surviving are his wife Keryl Conkright, Three Rivers, children Dean (Pearlee) Frye, Jr., Three Rivers, Shelly Macri, Union, grandchildren Alyssa, Amanda, Hannah and Kaden Frye, Three Rivers, sisters Phyllis (Robert) Dodd, Stanton, and Edna Hassenger, Constantine. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Kenneth Hassenger.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 4-6 pm at Porter Baptist Church; 12032 Teasdale Lake Rd., Constantine, where services will follow at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Randy Peterson and Pastor Patrick Neff will officiate.  Cremation will follow services with private interment of ashes in Shavehead Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with expenses.  Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Home in Constantine.
