Police warning people of scam

Schoolcraft Police Chief Bryan Campbell is urging people to be aware of a scam that was carried out against a victim this week.

The larceny of money and jewelry is being investigated following an incident Wednesday in the 500 block of Osterhout Street.

A 79-year-old female told police she was approached outside her residence by a trio of men who indicated they needed a bucket of hot water to work on sidewalks.

As one of the men distracted the victim inside her residence, the other two entered bedrooms in the house and took an undetermined amount of money and jewelry.

The suspects are described as being white males, 30-40 years of age with medium builds and short hair.

They were seen driving a light gray minivan.
