Event was successful

Saturday’s fundraiser for the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services of St. Joseph, Cass and Van Buren counties was hailed a success by event organizers.

Rose Parshall, director of operations for the Three Rivers-based agency, said more than 40 men – most wearing high-heeled or other women’s shoes – took part in the four-lap walk around the track at Three Rivers High School.

Flat-rate pledges to participants were to help generate funds for the agency. Parshall said a final dollar amount will be available after all pledges are collected and turned in.

Three Rivers Police Chief Tom Bringman, a member of the DASAS board, said the strong participation from law enforcement, county and city officials from throughout St. Joseph County underscores the value of the services provided by the agency.
