Julia Joan Miller, age 82, of Sturgis, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012, at Skaggs ALF in Burr Oak.
Julia was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Colon, a daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Castle) Bailey.
Her early years were spent in Colon. She graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1947.
Julia married William C. Miller and he preceded her in death Dec. 28, 2000.
Julia had worked for Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 27 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sturgis.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Murdick of Springfield; a son, Rex (Donna) Miller of Sturgis; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet (Bill) Lahr of Centreville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Miller; and a brother, Frank Bailey Jr.
There will be no visitation or services. Private interment of ashes will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
The family was assisted by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
