Members of the Colon Downtown Development Authority are interested in learning more about a proposed Magic Walk of Fame.
The proposed concept, which would be modeled after the star-studded sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard, is being explored by Rick Fisher DDA chairman and magician who owns FAB Magic in downtown Colon.
Fisher raised the idea at last month’s DDA meeting and its members agreed the proposal was worth looking into. Fisher said the concept was suggested by downtown merchant Annette Thornton, who owns Five Star Pizza.
Thornton indicated with the impending 75th anniversary of the annual Abbott’s Magic Get-Together, establishing a Walk of Fame, in part to commemorate the milestone, would be a permanent acknowledgment of Colon’s status as the Magic Capital of the World.
Fisher is expected to report his findings back to the DDA at an upcoming meeting.
