Martha D. VanNess, 80, of Goshen, Ind. and formerly of Otsego and Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at The Maples of Waterford Crossing in Goshen, Ind. Mrs. VanNess was born March 3, 1932 in Chicago, Ill. to George and Margaret (Wright) Fox.
Martha is survived by her children, Vicki (LeRoy) Holdread and Andrew (Kris) Friend; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Peggy Whemple, Karen Willard and Charmion Stephens; and by several nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Robert Friend in 1986; husband Carl VanNess in 2008 and by her son Robert Friend in 1973.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Messages of condolence for her family may be posted at www.WinkelFuneralHome.com.
