Thomas E. (Tommy) Pettit, age 37, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Sturgis Hospital emergency room.
Tommy was born Jan. 9, 1975, in Marshall, a son of Jerry and Joan (Little) Pettit.
Tommy had lived in Marshall, Colon, Vicksburg and in Sturgis for the past 20 years. He graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1993.
He was presently employed at Sturgis Molded Products and prior to that had worked for Fabric Services in Bristol, Ind.
Tommy loved to fish, golf, play card games and spend time with his sister.
He is survived by his father, Jerry (Jennifer) Pettit of Colon; his mother, Joan Pettit of Vicksburg;a sister, Hannah Pettit of Colon; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Tommy E. Pettit will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Community Church in Colon, with pastors Rick Webb and Henry Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
If desired, memorials may be made in memory of Tommy to the family.
