Blaze under investigation

Investigators looking into the cause of a weekend fire that destroyed Waterfront Apartments in Three Rivers have pinpointed the origin of the blaze.

Three Rivers Fire Chief Dan Tomlinson said a third-floor balcony at the northwest end of the three-story structure was determined to be the starting point of the Saturday morning fire.

What investigators have yet to figure is the cause of the blaze. Tomlinson said unless more clues are uncovered, the start of the fire will be labeled undetermined. He said faulty utilities have already been ruled out as a potential source.

Officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a cause. Tomlinson said anyone with photos or video of the fire is asked to contact the department.
