Crystal Pontius, 53, of Sturgis, the devoted love of Allen Rustad, beloved mom of Christopher Pontius and Cody Bohyer, went to rest in the arms of her maker early Friday afternoon, June 8, 2012, where she reunited with her sister, Shawna Pontius.
In addition to her sister, she was preceeded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Wanda Pontius; also her faithful and much-loved canine, Tarin.
Crystal fought renal disease for several years. Through it all, she remained the mother and friend she had always been.
In addition to her immediate family, Crystal is survived by two sisters, Debrah (Steve) Klujsza and Teresa Pontius; and brother, Dewayne Pontius; several nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Cassie Haywood, Kylie Bohyer, Colyn Thomas, Connor Thomas and Kathryn Stanton.
Crystal enjoyed time with friend and family. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, picnics and horseback riding. She had a well-known love for gardening and dining out.
A memorial and dinner in Crystal’s name will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesleyan Church, 907 N. Nottawa Road, Sturgis.
