Lynda Rodgers, 65

Lynda Lee Rodgers, age 65, of Three Rivers, died Sunday June 3, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo following a long illness. She was born in Three Rivers on Dec. 8, 1946 the daughter of John Irwin and Mary Imo (Willis) Cunkle. She graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1965. Lynda was married to Randy Rodgers in Fayetteville, NC in 1966 while Randy was serving in the military. She resided in Pennsylvania for 10 years before returning to Three Rivers. Here she worked at Hardings Market, and for 15 years at Three Rivers Area Hospital. Lynda enjoyed flower gardening and loved caring for animals, especially her dogs.

Lynda is survived by a son, Mike (Jan) Rodgers of Athens; 2 grandchildren, Amy Brower of Kalamazoo and Jamie (Scott) Prough of Athens; 1 great-grandchild, Cara Prough; a sister Gayle (John) Jones of Owosso; niece, Julia Jones of Waynesboro, VA; nephew, Lance Cpl. Kevin Jones, USMC; and a brother in law, Tracy Rodgers of New Kensington, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Rodgers; and her former husband, Randy Rodgers.

Cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday June 8, 2012 at the funeral home with Chris Johnson officiating. Memorials may be directed to either Animal Rescue Fund, or to the American Cancer Society.
