Maddux arrested

Officials from the Three Rivers Police Department have released the name of a man who allegedly attempted to hire someone to assault his wife with the intent of harming her unborn child.

Police said Todd Allan Maddux, 31, was arrested for solicitation with intent to assault his pregnant wife to cause a miscarriage or stillbirth.

The alleged plan by Maddux was foiled when a man in early May told officers Maddux wanted to hire him to assault his pregnant wife and cause her to have a miscarriage. Numerous meetings were recorded between Maddux and the man, police said.

The potential victim was reported to be three months pregnant at the time.

Maddux was arraigned May 25 and is due back in District Court Tuesday for a pre-trial conference.
