A 24-year-old Mottville Township man was arrested Friday afternoon, following a standoff with police lasting more than three hours.
Brandon Culbertson was sought by police after the St. Joseph County Narcotics Unit followed up on a tip regarding the production of methamphetamine.
Police said Culbertson was spotted in a vehicle and he fled into a wooded area as officers attempted to stop the car. According to police, Culbertson ran into a wooded area and eventually made his way inside his grandparents’ nearby residence.
After lengthy conversations with police on his cell phone, Culbertson refused to leave the residence and was eventually taken into custody by members of a Special Response Team. He struggled with police but was eventually arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
A number of charges are pending, police said.
