Maryellen Thoendel, age 67, of Constantine, passed away Thursday, June 28th, 2012 at Three Rivers Health. Maryellen was born in Des Moines, IA on March 28, 1945, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred Louise (Hill) Kiger. She graduated from High School in Des Moines, IA and attended Beauty and Cooking Schools. In April 1975 Maryellen married John E. Thoendel in. They were later divorced.
Maryellen worked as a cook at several area restaurants including the Harvey House, Village Inn, Country Table and the American Legion. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliaries in Constantine and Three Rivers.
Surviving are her daughters Lynette Dyer of Iowa, Nykole Thoendel of Constantine, Stephanie (Steve) Sequin of Constantine, son John Thoendel of Vandalia, grandchildren Courtney Corrighan, Brittany Corrighan, James Shetterly and Katlyn Sequin, great grandchild Landyn Pelham and one expected great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Terry Neumayer of Trinity Missionary Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
