Michael Wood, 45

Michael E. Wood, 45, of Sturgis, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his home.

He was born Oct. 31, 1966, in Sturgis, to Milo Wood and Mary (Willms) Hogstead.

Michael enjoyed deer hunting and coin collecting. He loved being in the woods.

He is survived by his parents; a son, Joshua M. Wood of Sturgis; a daughter, Honey L. Wood of Centerville; four sisters, Christina and Jeffrey Hays of Sturgis, Dodee and Roger Mains of Three Rivers, Paula McElwain of Sturgis and Roxanne Miller of Florida; a grandson, Jacob Wood; a very special aunt, Bonnie and Nick Witham of LaGrange, Ind.; a very special uncle, Richard Willms of Orland, Ind.; two very special cousins, Kelly Wetzell of LaGrange and Pauline Fugate of Burr Oak; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at Sturgis Wesleyan Church, 907 N. Nottawa St., Sturgis.

The funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. at the church, with the retired local minister of the United Methodist Church, Robert Keim, officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the family.
