Pauline H. Calkins, 81, of Centreville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Fairview Living Centre, Centreville, following an extended illness.
She was born July 15, 1930, in White Pigeon, the daughter of Alfred J. and Hazel M. (Oldenburg) Walls Sr.
She had lived in Centreville the past 16 years, coming from the Mottville and White Pigeon area where she lived most of her life.
On July 26, 1956, she married John Calkins in White Pigeon. He preceded her in death.
She was a machine operator for Ventline in Bristol, Ind., and the Savage Company in Ludington. She attended the Assembly of God and Nazarene churches.
Surviving are two daughters, Sue Hyche and Judy Ann (Richard) Shahin; two sons, Defoe (Susan) Shook and Michael (Penny) Shook; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Aletha Baldwin; brother, Almon Walls; several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband; parents; son, Daniel Shook; and brother, Alfred Walls Jr.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon, where services are at 10 a.m. Friday. with Pastor David Bell of the Mottville Community Church officiating.
Internment will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
