Restaurant: Impossible in town today

Representatives from the cable-television channel Food Network will be in Three Rivers today and Saturday as part of a segment for the program “Restaurant: Impossible.”

The program will focus on a 48-hour restoration of Frankie’s Restaurant, known for its railroad theme and caboose dining car.

Frankie’s was one of thousands of restaurants requesting to be featured on the television series and was chosen as one of a dozen to be included in the next season of “Restaurant: Impossible.”

A crew of about two dozen people will spend about $10,000 over the two-day period working on the restoration.

Locals who secured reservations will be treated to a meal Saturday night after the project has been completed.

Food Network officials have not said when the episode featuring Frankie’s will air.
