August Breastfeeding Awarness Month

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency – in conjunction with Governor Rick Snyder’s declaration of August as Breastfeeding Awareness Month – is sponsoring a Hats Off to Breastfeeding Campaign.

All breastfeeding mothers and their children are invited to participate in a fun, free “photo session” with the latest fashion hit for breastfeeding babes – Nursing Hat Covers, a fashion craze for breast feeding moms. In addition, local WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors will be on hand to answer questions about WIC and how it can help moms and families make and maintain the breastfeeding choice.

To learn more about the Hats Off to Breastfeeding Campaign, why breastfeeding is the best choice, and how the health department provides breastfeeding support, contact your local health department office or visit the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency website at www.bhsj.org.

To reach the health department’s St. Joseph County office in Three Rivers, call (269) 273-2161, extension 206.
