Howard A. “Dick” Bell Jr., 76, of Three Rivers, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. He was born on May 12, 1936 in Constantine the son of Howard A. and Dorothy (Manbeck) Bell, Sr. He was a Three Rivers-area resident all of his life. Dick served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post in Schoolcraft. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows, gardening, pets and playing cards. He was employed as an auto mechanic, and worked at Dock Foundry in Three Rivers for 25 years.
Dick was married to Betty L. Bronstetter on April 8, 1958 in Parkville. She survives along with three sons, Allen C. Bell of Nottawa, Richard L. Bell of Three Rivers and Arthur L. Bell of Mendon; two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Okoniewski of Three Rivers and Susan (Troy) Mathew of Three Rivers; four grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Kim) Bell of Constantine; two sisters, Dorothy (Allan) Davis and Viola Lamberson of Sturgis; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kenneth E. Bronstetter and Ronald L. Bell; three brothers, Jim, Jack and Bill; a step-brother, Arthur and by two half-sisters.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Carpenter officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
