Eugene Yesh, 89

Eugene J. Yesh, age 89, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home.

Eugene was born April 7, 2012, in Ann Arbor, a son of the late Steve and Francis (Czajkowski) Yesh.

He grew up in Bronson and attended Bronson Schools. He had lived all his adult life in Sturgis.

On Oct. 12, 1946, he married Pauline Meyers. She preceded him in death. Then on March 29, 1980, he married Evelyn I. (Jones) Alvey, and she preceded him in death in 1998.

Eugene had worked for 24 years as a chauffer and groundskeeper for the Kirsch family of Sturgis. He later was a self-employed antique dealer, antiques were his passion.

He is survived by one sister, Alphonsa Bobay of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Pauline and Evelyn; two brothers, Stanley and Fabian Yesh; three sisters, Catherine Cholometes, Margaret Herman and Dorothy Norush.

There will be no visitations. Upon Eugene’s request, his body has been donated to The University of Michigan Medical School. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
