Henry Otis Taylor, age 81, of Centreville, MI, died Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at the Fairview Living Centre in Centreville. Henry was born in Sturgis on September 13, 1930, a son of Harold and Dexter (Hunter) Taylor. Henry attended Centreville Schools. On July 29, 1950 he married Gloria Gammon in Vicksburg. Henry always loved his family, but especially his faithful dog Jeanie, and we all knew it.
After 44 years, he retired in 1992 from Kirsch Company in Sturgis. He also ran a small family farm in the Centreville area and he loved his John Deere tractors and pocket watches. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Henry also loved all his spiritual brothers and sisters and we await his resurrection.
Surviving Henry are his loving wife of 61 years Gloria Taylor, 8 children, Connie (Roger) Andrews, Mark (Cathy) Taylor, Robert Taylor, Robin Bogen, Julie (John) Klimek, Brock (Cindy) Taylor, Arlis (Montgomery) Maxwell, Penny (William) Hochstetler, 22 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren, sister Maxine Mains, brothers Charles Taylor, and George Taylor, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, and 2 grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Sturgis Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The memorial will be officiated by Elder Relmond Chamberlain.
