Katina M. Shepherd, age 53, of Mendon, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Katina was born June 2, 1959, in Farmington, Maine, a daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred (Daggett) Ladd.
Katina graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1977. She had made her home in Mendon for the past 30 years and was presently attending Faith Tabernacle Church in Three Rivers.
On Feb. 18, 1978, she married Early Shepherd in Farmington.
Katina was presently employed at I.A.C. in Mendon and prior to that had worked 17 years at T.H. Plastics, also of Mendon.
She enjoyed scrap-booking, sewing and gardening.
Katina is survived by her husband, Early Shepherd of Mendon; four daughters, Calahan Shepherd of Mendon, Connie Sue Shepherd of Mendon, Tasha Lynn (Robert) Tower of Mendon and Paige Ann Shepherd of Colon; seven grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Mendon Cemetery, with Pastor Randy Geans of Faith Tabernacle Church of Three Rivers officiating.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Katina to either the Faith Tabernacle Church or to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
