Correction for candidates running

A listing of candidates for the Constantine Village Council contains inaccurate information on the St. Joseph County website.

Constantine Township Clerk Marti Brown said she has been in touch with County Clerk Pattie Bender regarding the erroneous information. Bender is currently at the state’s county clerk’s convention and indicated the information on the website would be corrected by Monday.

In the meantime, Brown said the November general election will feature the following positions and their candidates: village president, Pat Weiss and Ruth Strawser; clerk, Cindy Lafleuer; treasurer, Mindy Hulse; trustees Bob Brewer, Willie Harder, Dick Larrance, Gary Mathers and MacKenzie Strawser. One trustee position remains open.

The county clerk’s office incorrectly stated last week that Lafleuer had withdrawn her candidacy for the Constantine village post to seek a position with the Constantine Township Board. Rather, she has decided against pursuing that seat and instead will run uncontested for the village treasurer’s position.
