Irene Mary Lloyd, age 64, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 19, 2012.
She was born August 28, 1947 in Somerville, Massachusetts only child of the late George and Rose (Sidlauskus) MacDonald.
Irene resided in Sturgis since 1972 coming from Massachusetts. On January 15, 1968 she married Clifford L. Lloyd in Somerville, Massachusetts.
For several years she was employed by Greenfield Research in Howe, Indiana until the company relocated and she had also worked at Freeman Manufacturing Company and the Sturgis Hospital both in Sturgis.
She enjoyed old movies and several collections including Beanie Babies and Dolls. Irene truly loved time spent with her family especially her two grandsons.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 44 years, Clifford; one son: Clifford (Jennifer) Lloyd of Howe, Indiana and her two grandsons: Connor and Christian Lloyd.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 P.M. Thursday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. A memorial service celebrating Irene M. Lloyd’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Rustin Krapfl of the Brighton Chapel in Brighton, Indiana will officiate. Burial of the ashes will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
