Patrick J. Benner, age 67, of Constantine, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born Oct. 23, 1944, in Logansport, Ind., a son of John M. and Katherine (Hartwick) Benner.
Patrick graduated in 1962 from Delphi High School and attended St. Joseph College in Renssaler, Ind. While living in Constantine, Patrick was a pioneer in the seed corn industry in southwest Michigan. He also had served as mayor on the Constantine Village Council.
On Nov. 11, 1965, Patrick married Diane Robinson in Delphi, Ind. She survives, along with three children, David (Kim) Benner, Kristine Benner and Vincent (Jamie Overley) Benner; three granddaughters, Brooke, Ashlynn and Allie Benner; a grandson, Logan Benner; and a sister, Kathleen (John) Frederick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ann Hancook.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A private memorial mass will be held at a later date.
