Shirley J. Newcomer, 65, previous resident of Constantine and Temple, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012 in Lancaster, Pa. unexpectedly from health complications too great to overcome.
Shirley was born March 16, 1947 in East Bank, W.Va. She married Michael Newcomer on July 22, 1966 in Elkhart, Ind. He preceded her in death along with her mother and father, Geraldine and Robert McCarty, and a brother, Ricky Lee. Surviving are her three children, Michael Newcomer Jr. of Constantine, Kenneth Newcomer of Wakarusa, Ind. and Kimberly (Jeremy) Culp of White Pigeon; seven grandchildren, Michal and Chantelle Kemp, Taylor, Ashton, Olivia and Brielle Culp, and Eric Clark. Shirley has two brothers, Kenneth McCarty and Robert McCarty, and one sister, Robin McFall all from Elkhart, Ind.
Shirley was known for her never-ending smile and laughter. She loved taking weekend fishing trips with her family, the occasional casino trip, and the great outdoors of northern Michigan. She also had a passionate love for hummingbirds. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed dearly.

Cremation has taken place and a remembrance dinner will take place at Riverview Park, 205 E. Water St., Constantine, MI 49042 on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2 o’clock.
