Brandy Lynn Barnell, 34, Sturgis, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 4, 1978, in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter of Thomas and Cindy (Sanford) Marker.
Brandy resided in Sturgis since May of 2011, coming from Holden, Mo. On July 3, 2001, she married Michael Barnell in Arkansas.
She attended Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis and enjoyed riding horses and taking walks. The love of her life was her children and she cherished every minute she had with them.
Brandy is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Dakota Barnell, Cole Barnell and Jazmine Barnell, all at home; her mother, Cindy Sanford of Holden; a brother, Thomas (Casey) Marker of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; three nieces and an expected niece, Claire, Ava Miley and Aiva; an aunt, Joanne (John) Mahurin of Holden; an uncle, Jerry (Lana) Sanford of Lee’s Summit; and grandfather Gerald Sanford of Independence, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 p.m. today at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Brandy Lynn Barnell will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Larry Wallman will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be appreciated to help with expenses.
