Lois Robinson, 69

Lois Elaine Robinson, age 69, of Sturgis, passed away Monday evening, Sept. 10, 2012, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Breman, Ind., a daughter of the late John and Beulah (Young) Metzger.

Lois was a lifelong Sturgis resident.

She retired from Grumman Olson in Sturgis following 16 years of employment. She had also worked at the Transogram Company, Union Products, Dorr Products, LeAnn Products, ACM Plastics and Syndicate Fixtures.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1314 and enjoyed bowling, fishing playing golf, and bingo and cards with friends. She loved the many vacations and trips she shared with Vicky and Tim.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Jeanie (Roger) Hagen of Burr Oak and Vicky (Tim Yoder) Singleton of Sturgis; two sons, Rich (Deb) Singleton and Calvin (Cary) Singleton, both of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and expecting one great-grandchild; a brother, Jerry Metzger of Coldwater; a niece, Lisa Pasquinelli of Troy; and a nephew, Craig Metzger of Sturgis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister-in-law, Nancy Metzger; and two nephews, John Metzger and Jeff Metzger.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service celebrating the life of Lois Robinson and burial of the ashes will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bronson. Pastor Paul Metzger of the Jamestown Church in Fremont, Ind., will officiate.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in her memory consider the American Cancer Society.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
