Nature’s Fuel secures funding

Officials from an Indiana-based company announced Wednesday it has secured funding of nearly $200 million to establish operations in Constantine.

Nature’s Fuel, of Fort Wayne, will use the money to acquire and update the former Rexam plant in the village’s industrial park as well as purchase more than $60 million worth of equipment.

Bill Sinish and Glenn Johnson, Nature’s Fuel top executives, made the announcement during a press conference Wednesday outside the 238,000-square-fioot building. They said the Krinos Group, of Youngstown, Ohio, agreed to the funding that will help the business see a workforce of more than 135 people when its operations start next summer.

Nature’s Fuel, which produces renewable fuel from waste wood, is expected to start its hourly workers at $16 an hour and offer full benefits.

Jobs will be posted on the company’s website as they become available. Its web address is naturesfuel.net.
