Sharon Lee Miller, 73, of Elkhart, Ind., and formerly of White Pigeon, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1939, in White Pigeon, a daughter of H. Russell and Mary (Gross) Lough. She had been an Elkhart resident for 30 years, coming from White Pigeon.
She had been employed by the White Pigeon Schools transportation department, and was owner-operator of McCoy-Miller Ambulance.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth T. Prouty of Elkhart, Virginia A. Prouty of White Pigeon and Donna G. (Keith) Wright of Little Elm, Texas; two stepsons, Kevin (Darlene) Miller of Marklesburg, Pa., and Michael (Kelly) Miller of Howe, Ind.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Susan (Robert) Strawser of White Pigeon and Judith Wood of Three Rivers; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Richard and Dorothy Morris of Howe and Art Brown of Cassopolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Linda Wells, Mildred Shafter and Patricia Papke; and a stepgrandson.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. The Rev. Wilbur Brandli will officiate. Cremation will follow services.
Donations may be directed to Project Life Saver of Elkhart County or Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
