Kenneth C. Kerr , age 85, of Three Rivers, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 surrounded by family at the Bronson Methodist Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Three Rivers, MI. on Oct. 17, 1927 the son of Paul and Shirlie (Jacobs) Kerr.
Mr. Kerr graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1944. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following his service, Kenneth began work at Peterson Spring Corp., later driving semi-truck which he did for many years. He then was employed at Wells Manufacturing, before retiring from Hydro-Matic. Ken was an avid sports fan, but he especially loved playing golf with his brother Bob, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Vicki Simon.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, two daughters, Jacalynn (Jerry) Flack, of Three Rivers, and Debra (Jeff) Bainbridge, of Marcellus, MI.; one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Kerr, of Three Rivers, one sister, Marilee (Ralph) Dean, of Frankfort, MI.; son-in-law, Steve Simon, of Kalamazoo, MI; seven grandchildren, Yvonne (Dale) Kline, Scott (Katie) Simon, Chad (Jaime) Simon, Bobbi Jo Bainbridge, Crystal (Shawn) Heivilin, Eric (Jennifer) Hoffmaster, and Jared (Elizabeth) Hoffmaster. Thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Rev. John Booko officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
